This article is not what I am saying. Ini bukan saya cakap ok. Jangan marah saya. This is what a Saudi Arabian is saying. I have shortened the article just slightly. You can read the full article by clicking on the title : Arab Spring and the Israeli enemy by ABDULATEEF AL-MULHIM
Saturday 6 October 2012
Thirty-nine years ago, on Oct. 6, 1973, the third major war between the Arabs and Israel broke out. . . On the anniversary of the 1973 War between the Arabs and the Israelis, many people in the Arab world are beginning to ask many questions about the past, present and the future with regard to the Arab-Israeli conflict.
The questions now are:
i. what was the real cost of these wars to the Arab world and its people.
And the harder question that no Arab national wants to ask is:
ii. What was the real cost for not recognizing Israel in 1948 and
iii. why didn’t the Arab states spend their assets on education, health care and the infrastructures instead of wars?
But, the hardest question that no Arab national wants to hear is
iv. whether Israel is the real enemy of the Arab world and the Arab people.
I (Abdullateef Al-Mulhim ok, not OutSyed The Box) decided to write this article after I saw photos and reports about
i. a starving child in Yemen
ii. a burned ancient Aleppo souk in Syria
iii. the under developed Sinai in Egypt
iv. car bombs in Iraq and
v. the destroyed buildings in Libya.
The common thing among all that I saw is that the destruction and the atrocities are not done by an outside enemy.
The starvation, the killings and the destruction in these Arab countries are done by the same hands that are supposed to protect and build the unity of these countries and safeguard the people of these countries.
So, the question now is who is the real enemy of the Arab world?
The Arab world wasted hundreds of billions of dollars and lost tens of thousands of innocent lives fighting Israel, which they considered is their sworn enemy, an enemy whose existence they never recognized.
The Arab world has many enemies and Israel should have been at the bottom of the list.
The real enemies of the Arab world are
i. corruption
ii. lack of good education
iii. lack of good health care
iv. lack of freedom
v. lack of respect for the human lives and finally
vi. many dictators who used Arab-Israeli conflict to suppress their people.
vii. Their atrocities against their own people far worse than the Arab-Israeli wars.
..we saw Israelis attack various Arab countries. But, do these attacks match the current atrocities being committed by some Arab states against their own people.
i. In Syria, the atrocities are beyond anybody’s imagination.
ii. Aren’t the Iraqis destroying their own country?
iii. Tunisia’s dictator stole 13 billion dollars from poor Tunisians
iv. how can a child starve in Yemen if their land is the most fertile land in the world?
v. Why would Iraqi brains leave a country that makes 110 billion dollars from oil?
vi. Why do Lebanese fail to govern one of the tiniest countries in the world?
vii. And what made the Arab states start sinking into chaos?
On May 14, 1948 the state of Israel was declared. And just one day after that the Arabs declared war on Israel to get back Palestine. The Arabs lost the war. The Arabs gained nothing and thousands of Palestinians became refugees.
And in 1967, the Arabs went to war with Israel and lost more Palestinian land and made more Palestinian refugees who are now at the mercy of the countries that host them.
And now, with the never ending Arab Spring :
i. the Arab world has no time for the Palestinians refugees or Palestinian cause
ii. many Arabs are refugees and under constant attack from their own forces.
iii. Syrians are leaving their own country, not because of Israel.
iv. the Syrian Air Force is dropping the bombs.
v. Iraqi Arab Muslims, the most intelligent brains, are leaving Iraq for the West.
vi. In Yemen, the world’s saddest human tragedy is being written by the Yemenis.
vii. In Egypt, the people in Sinai are forgotten.
Finally, if many of the Arab states are in such disarray, then what happened to the Arabs’ sworn enemy (Israel)?
Israel now has
i. the most advanced research facilities, top universities and advanced infrastructure.
ii. life expectancy of Arabs living in Israel is far longer than in many Arab states
iii. they enjoy far better political and social freedom than many of their Arab brothers.
iv. Palestinians living under Israeli occupation in West Bank and Gaza enjoy more political and social rights than some places in the Arab World.
v. one of the judges who sent a former Israeli president to jail was an Arab-Israeli
The Arab Spring showed the world that the Arab-Israelis are happier and in better situation than their Arab brothers who fought to liberate them from the Israelis.
Now, it is time to stop the hatred and wars and start to create better living conditions for the future Arab generations.
My comments begin here : The fact is much more could have been done for the Palestinians by their Arab brothers. For example it came as a shocker to me that after 64 years of housing Palestinian refugees (since 1948) just this year 2012, the new Egyptian President Mursi granted citizenship to 5000 Palestinians.
And the Palestinian issue has long become a convenient whipping post for Arab dictators to stir up Arab nationalism to keep them in power. Even the ayatollahs in Iran are whipping up the Palestine issue to keep themselves in power. In Malaysia the Palestine issue provides easy pickings for PAS. They collect thousands of Ringgit in the name of Tabung Jihad Palestine. No one knows if the Palestinians are aware that money is being collected in their name in a far away country called Malaysia.
The only person in Malaysia who has done anything tangible for the Palestinians is Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamed. He actually sent supplies and goods to Gaza, organised the War Crimes tribunals and helped sustain world awareness about a people who are becoming forgotten by the Arabs themselves.
The writer's points are valid : who is the real enemy of the Arabs? In the Iran-Iraq War over a million people died on both sides. In Syria now, over 30,000 people have died. In Libya thousands died to overthrow Ghaddafi. In Yemen people are dying too. People died in Tunisia. It is Arabs killing Arabs.
And the writer points out that Arabs living inside Israel today enjoy longer life spans, have more economic opportunities, politicial and social rights than Arabs outside Israel.
Other than Arabs being judges in the Israeli courts, Raleb Majadele is the first Arab Muslim Minister in the Israeli Cabinet, appointed in 2007. Here is his picture :
There have always been Arab Muslim members of the Israeli Knesset (Parliament). However it has taken 59 years for an Arab Muslim to become a Minister in the Israeli Cabinet.
Raleb Majedele's appointment shows changing attitudes in both the Jews and Arab Muslims in Israel. Firstly the majority Jews in Israel are adjusting more to the Arab Muslim minority (Arab Muslims make up 20% of the Israeli population). More significantly Israeli Arab Muslims are also adjusting to Israel, the country they live in. Raleb Majedele says that since he has broken the mould, there will always be Arab Muslim Ministers in the Israeli Cabinet.
Other than politics, a surprising 20% of medical workers in Israel ie doctors, surgeons, pharmacists, nurses and medical technicians are Israeli Arab Muslims.
History does not stand still. Things have to move on. People also move on in life. They cannot be fighting forever. New solutions can be found for old problems.

AES will solve our road accident problem? yeah right! third world country police force with AES is just like monkeys with iPADs! YES?
anyway the JEWS in Quran digelar dengan nama "YAHOOD" or "BENI ISRAEL", yang mana satu? they are so special that Allah gave them dua gelaran dalam Quran? :)
cheers.
world has to move on- so true but yet ironic when you keep referring to an ancient book that keep harping about that certain group of people and will strive to achieve the perfect intonation in praise of this. How surreal if not delusional.
TDM pun cakap lebih kurang benda yang sama..bila dia sebut 'Jews control the world' dulu Supaya orang Islam perlu berfikir...
Sadat berfikir, dia dapat balik tanah Sinai dari Israel tanpa perang tapi orang Islam kumpulan Ikhwan pulak bunuh dia.
Kalau pemimpin Palestin dan Arab lain berfikir, mungkin dah lama dulu, Israel kembali ke sempadan asal 1967.
Is this an Arab problem or a Muslim problem world over, a malady that has infected the Muslim world, as espoused in your earlier articles?
Anom Sunday November 11, 2012 11:47 AM,
Its an Arab problem not a muslim problem. Muslims in Israel prosper. Many successful Muslims in America. Muslim converts in Germany, Netherlands, Belgium (not original muslims of Arab origin) prosper. Malaysia is a successful country with Muslim majority. Turkey's economy is most successful under islamic minded Justice & development Party. There are many poor n backward non Muslim countries in Americas, Africa, South East Asia. There are dictatorships as well in non muslim countries in Americas, Africa n Asia. Religion not a factor. Its the system. If you have freedom n democracy, Islam will prosper.
Anon 1:01 todate it is an "islamist" religious problem. It is not just an Arab problem.
Muslims in Israel prosper becuse there is less restrictive "islamist" religion there. Cant you see, there are many successful Muslims in America - NOT in Saudi Arabia. Because America follows a secular system.
Muslim converts in Germany, Netherlands, Belgium (not original muslims of Arab origin) can prosper inside Germany, Netherlands, Belgium. This is because they live in a non-islamist influenced secular country. They will not prosper in an "Islamic" country.
Take these new Muslim converts from Germany or Belgium and put them in a 'religious' environment like Saudi Arabia, Egypt and see if they can prosper? They will not prosper.
Please do not ignore the fact that Malaysia is a successful country also because the vast portion of its economy is under the management and control of non Muslims (who are a minority). Without the contribution of the non Muslim economy, Malaysia will be very different. And Malaysia's good health is now dependent on oil revenue from Petronas - which is used to sustain the many subsidies in the country. The oil revenue is also generated by non Muslim and foreign oil companies as well.
Turkey's economy is successful NOT under islamic minded Justice & development Party. Turkey is succesful because Kamal Ataturk made Turkey into a secular country. Erdogan removed restrictive taxes and laws that have freed up the Turkish economy and the economy has prospered better.
If you compare poor n backward non Muslim countries in Latin and South America, Africa, South East Asia with poor Islamic countries, then you are saying that you may as well be a non Muslim in South America or Africa. There is no difference. Both are equally poor.
However the poor n backward non Muslim countries in Americas, Africa, South East Asia are now organising themselves and pulling forward. Even Africa is seeing economic growth. Vietnam and Thailand are moving ahead. Soon Cambodia and Myanmar will follow. The Islamic countries are NOT. They are stuck. Or they are sliding more backward.
Talking about dictatorships, China which is the largest authoritarian (dictatorship) country in the world will soon overtake America as the No 1 economic super power in the world. China is a secular nation.
Religion is a big factor. Its not the system or just the attitude. You cannot have freedom n democracy in "Islamists" version of religion. Please wake up. The Islamists want the rule of the Caliphate. They do not believe in democracy or elections. If there is no democracy, both men and women cannot even vote. They also say women cannot be leaders. They want hudud and shariah. They say if you renounce "Islam" (apostate) you must be killed. This is their "religious" law.
You call this freedom? These types of religous beliefs are the furthest things from freedom and democracy. This is their "religion". That is why they are backward.
It has nothing to do with attitude. OK even if you insist on attitude, the religion that you believe in can seriously corrupt your attitude. Your religion can give you a very bad attitude.
Arabs are easily manipulated. They r divided by tribal affiliation, clans, sects, warlords etc..
Palestinians living in refugee camps in jordon, lebanon , iraq etc are treated like dirt.
during UN partition plan 1948, they suppose to get half of 'present' israel but they opted for war and lost, now who confiscated their lands :gaza and west banks, they belong to Eygpt and jordan respectively
The arabs are not alone. From the Land Destroyer Report by Tony Cartalucci date saturday, 10/11/2012: "[...] Israel is also suffering protests against economic woes and social injustice - begotten by the misappropriation of Israeli resources both human and financial. The nation could easily redirect its immense military budget into real economic development and progress - if it could oust leaders who seek to maintain Israel as a beachhead for Western hegemony instead of growing it into a self-sustaining nation-state".
The only difference is that the west works against the arabs in favour of israel. A perpetual strategy of tension is maintained to justify perpetual meddlings by these western neo-colonialists. Israel is just their front and casus belli for that very purpose. Arab countries as they exist now are the result of manipulative western foreign policy in the middle east.
A genuine arab uprising is needed to overcome all these, not the US-engineered one like those already happened. "A nation would not change for the better unless it genuinely commit to working real hard to change itself".
in secular USA,.. shia, wahabi, sufi, alawite are allowed to thrive and live in peace and harmony.
in the islamic Arab world, the sunni fight with alawite , shia, sufi etc why this happen?.. because they play with religio-politics,.. which sect is more supreme?? and the gov get involved ..?
Anon 1:01:00 PM
If you have freedom n democracy, Islam will prosper.
oh yeah, that is why they are all running in droves to migrate to the prosperous kafir countries to practice this ...duh.
Goodness gracious me! Alas, there is an Arab with brains and common sense who articulatrs sensibly. The Palestinian tragedy is an own making by the Palestinians and thr Arab Muslim world. Palestinians had the best opportunity for their own home land when Ehud Barack was willing to move the extra mile to see a resolvement ofthr Israel- Palestine conflict. But, Yasser Arafat made a miscalculation and tried to negotiate with a false olive branch in one hand and terrorism on the other hand.
The Palestinian fate is also because of the Arab and Muslim countries who encouraged non negotiatment. Now we hear the truth of Yasser Arafat and his PLO who lived off the money they received from the wotld over. They cared more about their lifestyle than honestly trying to resolve thr conflict.
Tuan Syed, thank you for this great article.
"Malaysia is a successful country also because the vast portion of its economy is under the management and control of non Muslims"
I cannot imagine life in Malaysia without the non-Muslims. I think they help balance things up - religion and political wise - for the Muslims. If not, UMNO will be just like PAS. How scary is that!

Apa yg Pak Arab columnist tulih tuh byk ada kebenarannya.

Tuan Syed,
In your analysis you forgot to mention about proxy wars. The Arab world dont produce the weapons or bullets. Who produces them? and Why are so many guns found in the Arab world? Tun Mahathir has also mentioned many times about proxy wars.
Quran suruh berhati hati dgn yahudi, org islam pegi bunuh.
Ouran suruh jgn demonstrasi, guna kan akal dan informasi terkini,
org islam pegi merusuh.
samada quran salah atau org islam salah tafsir.
Pak Syed,
You must differentiate between Muslims n Islamists. You n I are both muslim n strongly believe in Quran n i presume both of us a progressive Muslim who want Islam to be respected. And I believe successful muslims in America, germany, belgium, china, Malaysia n world wide are strong believers in Islam otherwise its difficult to uphold their believe in their religion in the challenging n secular world they live in n sometime facing discrimination.
dear syed, the backwards is not because Islam. the backwards because the way they interpret it.. the way how Muhammad Rasullulah lives among in arabs,he is the most modest and kindest person among in arabs..he lives in people that kill their daughter(to avoids shame),women lives like slave, fanatic clan where bloodshed just a simple cause e.g. putting stone at kaabah, even in the war to protect islam from oppression, he never kill the POW's,he is man of peace..
what i see is some islamic scholar make they own version of interpretation without refer whole content of islam teaching ie;The Arabic root word for Islam means submission, obedience, peace, and purity. the way of islam must be peace to all mankind. lots of finding in science, medical and maths from muslim scholar even included in Quran.
what can we(malays) aspect tanah melayu without foreigner, can we prosper. the answer is yes.. if we go to melaka museum,in years 1400 melaka is very successful country where the empire consist from north to south and the aceh. they have 20,000 troops and latest weapon such as cannon and also effective law. the constant attack and war from many enemies(siam, portugies, dutch, british) have weaken the malay's minded and society.

Always refreshing to read your blog bro,I havea theory, I have told you this before, but I suspect Tun Mahathir is not a Keralaan, Malayali or a Malabar...but a Jew whose family could not leave the Peninsula and stuck here but he made it good here. David Marshall's family succeeded to move to S'pore. There are many Jews in Malaysia, they disguised themselves under an assume ethnic identity, today we have the "pseudo" Muslim-Jew with surname like Marican, Scully, Barrock, AlBukhary and Ananda I am very proud of them!
Shalom!
How to provide good education and work opportunities if you are oppressed left and right Syed?
Easy for you to say in the comfort of your home.

Too many sects and tribes, probably.
People outside seem to see them only as arabs and muslims.
Israelis on the other hand are just jews. Israel is their promised land after years and years of persecution.
Also you can only improve by bettering yourself and your people, not by hating and trying to destroy others. Okay, maybe hate can serve as a little motivation, though.

Bagaimana bumi yg dipijak & langit yg dijunjung hendak maju jika menganut fahaman yg sedemikian?
Cukup2 lah dengan cerita CONSPIRACY YAHUDI, it is so STUPID lah! hidup lah dalam dunia nyata wahai orang2 melayu. gunalah akal tu, F.O.C. mah ...
Hopefully nobody in KSA will ask for his head lah.. under the pretext of "insult to the religion"..
It is about time somebody in KSA call spade a spade. The problem is whether the majority of Arabs can accept that they are themselves the source of their problem or continue to be in denial? My guess will be the latter..
in some Arabs countries, most craze for freedom but not freedom in religion. Who say so? the islamist politicians!!.They interpret in their favour, some say the verse
'non-compulsion..' is for non-muslims.
fahmi, agreed with u.
